You can study sustainable communities in Bonn, Germany!

Summer I, All Majors Welcome

About

Sustainability is not just a one-time expense for construction, but represents a change of lifestyle and an on-going commitment to living more lightly on the earth. This program will focus on existing sustainable places in communities, including town centers, office buildings, housing developments, parks, and reclaimed industrial sites. City and regional recycling programs, transit systems and how communities create sustainable infrastructure are explored. We ask questions from people who are making sustainability actually happen for energy production, resource conservation and mobility.

Highlights

Students will understand how engineering design practices are not only reoriented through sustainable communities, but the living standards for citizens and expectations for their commitment to sustainable levels of consumptions changed. Both courses will provide a foundation of theory and application through active learning. Classes will be conducted four days a week with three-day weekends for personal travel. Suggested weekend travel destinations will be provided or students can launch out on their own. Students are further immersed into German culture by living with an English-speaking host family while in Bonn.

Greetings from Walt Disney World! The Agricultural Sciences team is looking for college students and recent graduates (within 6 months of Bachelors degree) to participate in our fun and challenging six-month hands-on internship in several different agricultural and science education fields.

Desired majors include but are not limited to: Ag. Communication, Ag. Education, Agribusiness, Agriculture, Agronomy, Aquaculture, Aquatic Biology, Biology, Biotechnology, Botany, Crop Science, Entomology, Environmental Horticulture, Fisheries, Food Science, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Marine Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Ornamental Horticulture, and Plant Science.

Attached to this message is a one-page flyer about the internships we offer in plant science, entomology, biotechnology, and aquaculture. We’d like to ask for your assistance in posting this flyer in a place where potentially interested students will see it and/or share it. Please feel free to also share it with your fellow professors and faculty. We are currently looking for students to fill internships for the Fall 2012 (mid-June 2012 to early-January 2013) and Spring 2013 terms (early –January 2013 to mid-June 2013).

Interested students should email a cover letter, resume, school transcript, and one letter of recommendation to wdw.epcot.science.internship@disney.com. Selected students will be interviewed via phone by a Walt Disney World representative to further discuss the internship.

Please refer interested students to http://disneyinterns.com. They can click on “Walt Disney World® Resort,” and select “Sciences / Horticulture / Zoology.” There, students will find more information about the plant science, entomology, biotechnology, and aquaculture internship positions. The online application will be available starting September 5. If students have any questions with accessing the site, please have them email us directly at WDW.EPCOT.Science.Internship@disney.com.

When addressing correspondence, please ask your students to include my name to ensure timely and efficient mail delivery.

Thank you for your assistance in helping us share the news about this exciting internship opportunity with your students.

Sincerely,
