Please join the Norman Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture at Texas A&M University and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Thursday, Nov. 14, for the next installment of the 2013 Borlaug Seminar Series.
In his seminar lecture from 7-8p.m., Pierre Ferrari, CEO of philanthropic and international development organization Heifer International, will discuss Heifer’s initiatives and the collaborations that allow the organization to continue its fight against global hunger and poverty.
Ferrari also serves on the board of Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Ice Cream, where he has previously served as chairman and was instrumental in the company’s global commitment to fair trade with vanilla, cocoa and coffee farmers. The former marketer for Coca-Cola USA is also a board member of the Small Enterprise Assistance Fund and an investor and director of Guayaki Sustainable Rainforest Products.
He holds a master’s degree in economics from The University of Cambridge and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
The seminar is free and open to the public and will take place at Texas A&M University’s AgriLife Center, 600 John Kimbrough Blvd., West Campus. Refreshments will be served.
