The Farm Service Agency has a Vacancy Announcement for 6 County Operations Trainees in Texas.  The selected candidates will be required to complete a 12 month training program in preparation to become a County Executive Director, location to be determined in Texas.  County Executive Directors are responsible to delivering various federal farm programs in a county or counties under the direction of a locally elected County Committee.

Evans Financial Group, LLC. in College Station is looking to fill 2 internship positions. Located in College Station, we are centered in “Aggieland” and our business is Aggie Owned and Operated. The first internship position is geared towards someone wanting to work in the Finance Industry. The intern will be responsible for scanning paperwork, assisting with mailing and emailing veterinarians within Texas, as well as preparation for meetings with clients. A fluent understanding of Excel is a plus. We are a small office that is looking for a candidate that is timely, detail oriented, organized by nature and driven. There are bonus opportunities for exemplary work.This position will be opening in early February and we are looking for interns who can work in the mornings. It will be a paid internship, with potential for a part-time position this summer.

The second position is geared more towards Marketing/Sales. This position will require strong computer skills in Power Point, Excel, a graphic design/photoshop style software, and an ability to learn our Bill Goode Marketing Software. ANY knowledge about blogging and social media is a large plus. The candidate needs to have strong communication skills, especially with older clients. A large part of the internship will involve calling clients to set up appointments, gathering material for appointments and mailing material to prospective clients. This position will open in late March, after Spring Break and run till the end of Summer. It will be a paid internship, with potential for a full-time position in Fall 2014.

Attached is the ACE Day invitation! ACE Day stands for Agriculture Career Exposition. We encourage all students to attend this event to find jobs, internships, and network with potential employers!

ACE Day will be held on February 11th in the Bethancourt Ballroom at the MSC from 11 am – 6 pm. Please note the change in location and time for this event. We will have a shuttle system from West Campus to Main Campus. Details about this will follow in the next few weeks. Please have your students check aceday.tamu.edu to view companies who are attending. We will be updating that list soon.

In preparation for ACE Day we are holding a presentation on résumés, cover letters, and how to prepare for ACE Day on February 3rd at 5:30 pm in 113 AGLS . All students are invited to attend. In addition, we are also holding résumé reviews from 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm on February 4 th and 9:00 am – 11:30 am on February 5th in 515 AGLS.
