Last week, our Department’s Financial Planning program learned that they were successful in landing a competitive grant of $25,000 for an emerging program from the TD Ameritrade Institutional NextGen Program. They award only one of these per year, and selection was based on the application that was submitted in May.

As a grant winner, they were invited to send two representatives to visit the New York Stock Exchange for an event, including participation in the closing bell ceremony, on Monday, July 21. Representing Texas A&M University were faculty member Nathan Harness and senior student Mariel Braun. This is great publicity for our program.

To watch the closing bell, go to: https://www.nyse.com/bell or you can view it at

This is great publicity for Texas A&M, the Department of Agricultural Economics, and for the Financial Planning program, and we are very proud of them!
